High Resolution Shows More Detail And Reduces Costs
The primary benefit of using high-resolution cameras is that the stored images are more revealing and provide stronger evidence than other formats. MOBOTIX cameras record approximately 30 times more detail than 95% of all existing video systems worldwide. In virtually all applications, one MOBOTIX camera can replace several standard CCTV systems because MOBOTIX technology offers four times more coverage. For example, at the World Cup soccer stadium in Kaiserslautern, a single MOBOTIX camera monitors four turnstiles at the same time. Even an entire room can be monitored with one 90° wide-angle lens camera positioned in a corner of a room. The high-detail resolution not only means fewer cameras, but it also reduces the amount of cabling, backup-power requirement and storage systems, thus minimizing the overall costs of the system substantially.
Used Reliably Worldwide
The robust fiberglass-reinforced housing, broad operating temperature range of –30 to +60 °C (-22 to +140 °F) and absence of fans, heating or moving parts are key to the high reliability of MOBOTIX cameras. To date, more than 100,000 cameras have been installed worldwide in all environmental conditions, from the Antarctic to the deserts of Saudi Arabia to the tropical Everglades in Florida.
The MOBOTIX D14D-DualDome network camera series with its elegant design is well suited for use in interiors and on building facades that have high design requirements.
The Mobotix D14 DualDome IP camera offers an impressive megapixel video surveillance solution. The fixed dome camera has 90 to 15 degree lens options, as well as an option for a 180 degree lens. With two 1/2” CMOS image sensors, the camera allows for 3-megapixel (2048 x 1536) resolution performing with speeds of 20 frames per second. One sensor is typically used for day/night footage, while the other sensor captures high-quality images during the day. A black and white image sensor provides 1-megapixel (1280 x 960) resolution.
When using the 180 degree model, the D14 can support high-quality 6-megapixel (4096 x 1536) dual images using two 3-megapixel sensors. This provides a total panorama, 180 degree view of the scene. In the dual sensor mode, the camera performs at 8 frames per second.
The D14 comes with MxPEG compression, a standard unique to Mobotix cameras. MxPEG helps optimize network storage and bandwidth especially when recording footage in high resolution. The Mobotix camera is outdoor-ready with IP65-rated housing. The D14 also supports Power over Ethernet (PoE).
Included with the camera is a 4GB MicroSD card for on-board storage. The D14 is compatible with cards up to 64GB. The free Mobotix video management software can easily play back the stored video; no network video recorder (NVR) is required. The D14 integrates easily with traditional NVRs if needed.
