The EverFocus EDVR9D1/1T is a commercial grade 9-channel DVR presented as an all-in-one solution for managing multiple cameras for recording, viewing and playback from a single robust and feature-rich device. Video is captured in the MPEG-4 format at speeds up to 120 IPS (NTSC) for the combined channels and is stored on the internal 1TB hard drive or burned to a CD/DVD disc for archival or transfer purposes. Users can also access the DVR from a remote Internet location to view and record images as well as to operate the PTZ functions of a single camera. Other important features include a motion detection function, audio/I/O ports, loop-through video inputs and alarm I/O ports. - Pentaplex Operation
- Pentaplex operation means that video from all cameras can be viewed live, recorded, played back, archived and accessed from a remote location simultaneously. - MPEG-4 Recording
- MPEG-4 Technology, with its inherent ability to maintain high quality while keeping file sizes to a minimum, is particularly well suited for use as a compression method in DVRs. When compared to older compression schemes like MJPEG or MPEG-2000, MPEG-4 can store up to 10 times as much material per gigabyte of disk space, at higher resolutions and with far less noise or distortion. In layman's terms, this means that video from more cameras can be recorded at higher frame rates and for longer periods of time before any footage needs to be overwritten or deleted.
- Remote Network Viewing and PTZ Control
- With a built-in Ethernet connection, anything that could be done from the front of the unit could now be achieved easier and more efficiently using a PC along with the convenience and familiarity of a computer's keyboard and mouse. Harnessing the power of the Internet, remote network users can view cameras live, playback recorded material, change DVR settings or schedule recording to a PC's hard drive. Furthermore, remote clients can also operate the PTZ functions of a single dome camera via an RS-485 control protocol, something which cannot be done from the front of the DVR. There's also no need to install any specialized software, as this DVR supports network access using a standard Windows web browser. To prevent system abuse, this DVR employs an elaborate password system, determining the level of access for general users and administrators.
- Built-In DVD Burner
- A built-in DVD burner is one of the most important features to have in a DVR. It allows material to be stored at a secure location for indefinite periods of time for possible future use. It also provides a quick method for handing over crucial event footage to the authorities without having them wait around for a VHS copy to be made or in some instances having to surrender the entire unit for evidence purposes.
